Two sisters are bringing the magic to their clients’ most important celebrations in new event space just opened at 2908 NW Vivion Road in Riverside, Missouri. (February 7, 2023)

“We started doing weddings and loved doing it so much,” said Natlie Bristol, co-owner of Twice the Magic with, and older sister to, Lyneisha Ryan. “We probably did weddings and other special events for friends and family for 10 years or so before we seriously considered opening a business. Our mom saw something in us – an entrepreneurial streak. She’s been our backbone.”

Bristol said they used a lot of other event locations over the years. They developed a detailed list of what was missing from those venues and made sure all those desirable assets were a feature of their Twice the Magic space: accessibility, lots of free parking, an attractive and open blank slate to customize the décor for each occasion, a kitchenette for food prep and staging and storage to hide all the totes and boxes used to hold all the prep materials.

“Curry has been really great in preparing this space,” Bristol added. “We took on two spaces so the interior work included connecting the spaces: building out an office, the kitchenette, bathroom, storage and maintenance/utility room. All the finishes are first class and we can make the space look like it was tailor made for everything from an intimate wedding to a quinceañera to a championship watch party or corporate event.”

Décor is Ryan’s area of expertise. “Lyneisha brings the party to life,” said Bristol. “She does all the set up and decorating. She brings that magic. I am more back office, logistics, marketing. We make a good team and our clients appreciate getting two people with that skill combination for the price of one.”

Price competitive, Twice the Magic’s $100 an hour four-hour minimum comes with an additional hour free for clients who want to do their own set up or, for cleanup.

“Twice the Magic’s venue is flexible and versatile,” said Bristol. “Clients have 1,500 square feet that can transform in no time for each celebration. We can do all the décor and food and beverage set up or, clients can come in and handle it all themselves. We have lounge furniture, tables and chairs as well as black linens for rent.” While the venue does not have a liquor license, clients are welcome to bring their own alcohol.

The sisters were stumped for a minute when asked what they do when they’re not working (“When’s that?!”) but they recovered to mention family. Ryan has six kids and Bristol, two, scattered throughout elementary, middle and high schools.

“There are a lot of cousin outings,” Bristol added. “And we like to eat so we do eating trips around Kansas City; for research, of course.”
