Curry Real Estate Services is a full-service commercial real estate broker and commercial property management company.

Curry manages, leases, sells and provides consulting services for a wide range of property types including commercial property and multi-family. Family-owned since 1924, Curry’s expert team has years of experience giving them the deep knowledge and experience to consistently deliver quality results that satisfy property owners and tenants alike.

Headquartered north of the river, Curry Real Estate Services today has a multi-million dollar owned asset portfolio of commercial property – including office space, retail space, mixed use, vacant land, industrial flex and mini warehouse facilities – and multi-family property in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as Gladstone, Independence, Kearney, Leavenworth, Lee’s Summit, Liberty, Overland Park and Smithville. The full-service commercial real estate company also serves as a property management company and has nearly four million square feet of gross leasable space under management.

Accredited

The company strives to be among the very best in its profession. Curry is one of the few Kansas City commercial real estate companies to achieve Accredited Management Organization (AMO) status by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) – the standard for excellence in the real estate industry.
The company’s commercial real estate brokers provide a wide range of services including leasing and commercial real estate sales, acquisitions, dispositions, marketing analysis for property value and lease rates, marketing and positioning, financing and contract preparation.

Management

Curry’s management services include complete property administration, commercial property leasing and administration, accounting and budget development, insurance and taxes, rent collections, commercial property maintenance and renovations oversight and tenant relations.

The Kansas City commercial real estate market can be fickle. Curry’s commercial real estate consulting to its investor property owners and exceptional commercial property management and services strengthens tenant satisfaction and retention, helping the Curry team develop a trusted advisor rapport with owners and tenants alike.

Summit Center

An example of this is Curry’s work with Summit Center, the first retail shopping center in the city of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, when the company first developed it around 60 years ago. Over the ensuing years, Curry thoughtfully managed and maintained the commercial property, making incremental improvements to the center’s façade.

In time, city of Lee’s Summit became the fastest growing suburb in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area and a meaningful investment in updating the center became essential to retain Summit Center’s competitive edge. While a big construction project can have great long-term results when completed it can prove quite the challenge in the process. Curry set about making its plan to renovate Summit Center without disrupting tenant business so it could maintain the center’s occupancy rate.

Curry’s commercial real estate brokers selected contractors based, in part, on their sensitivity to tenant and customer convenience. Once selected, Curry staff walked the contractors through the retail space, personally introducing those who would be doing the construction to those who would be affected by it. Exceptional commercial property management, the strong communications between the contractors and tenants and the quality work of the contractors resulted in a beautiful renovation and an increase in the Summit Center occupancy rate from 80 to 99 percent.

Commercial Property

Even before embarking on a commercial property renovation, Curry brings its commercial real estate consulting service to bear. The brokers guide the owner on the level of investment that will achieve the desired physical outcome while assuring that the property will continue to perform financially and improve on that performance.

One can see that the skill set required of a successful commercial real estate broker and property manager is lengthy. In addition to the soft skills – establishing and maintaining a positive working relationship with tenants and investor owners, good attention to detail and time management skills – the broker must be able to manage all aspects of their assigned portfolio including the leasing and renewal process (commercial leasing of retail, office, and industrial properties); listing and selling of commercial and investment properties; reviewing maintenance proposals.

Commercial Real Estate Brokers

Curry’s commercial real estate brokers are licensed and their commercial property managers have the industry’s in-demand certifications. The company’s nearly 100 years of experience, full-service offerings and commitment to professionalism and quality assure that it will be available to serve its owners, tenants and community for years to come.
