Signature Landscaping is another Curry vendor giving back during tough times.

If you are among the many who enjoy the landscaping dotting Curry Real Estate Services multi-family and commercial properties, it may be Signature Landscaping’s handiwork.

They don’t mind getting dirty making things pretty and that goes for the company’s management team that stepped up earlier this year to donate their labor and material to refresh the landscaping of a Synergy Services shelter for men, women or children escaping domestic violence.

“For the last three years we have worked to renovate the interior of this domestic violence shelter and realized that the outside needed some love as well,” said Tara Syndergaard, Synergy manager, volunteers and operations. “Our friends at the Apartment Association of Kansas City (AAKC) put us together with Signature Landscaping. We were hoping for a tiny bit of help to spruce it up a bit and then we met with Jeremy and he went beyond, saying they would  create a landscape plan, bring in a team and donate product!”

Jeremy is Jeremy Swope, Signature’s north brand account manager. “After our first consult with Tara, our landscape designer, Leah Klooster, took in all Synergy wanted to accomplish and came up with a beautiful, low-maintenance design,” he said.

Not too long after that, Swope, Klooster and more than a half dozen other members of the Signature management brought trucks, tools, plants and a tree for a socially distanced work day putting in the new landscaping.

“The remarkable part is that Signature chose to do this at the height of uncertainty caused by the coronavirus,” said Syndergaard. “With all the confusion around the pandemic, they still raised their hand, brought out a crew and made a difference where we really needed them.

“Now when our clients come into this shelter, at one of the most difficult moments in their lives, their lowest point, instead of a dreary outside it is cheerful and welcoming,” she added. “The beautiful landscaping completed our renovation work, making every aspect of our facility match up with the quality of our services,”
