Kearney Chamber of Commerce moves into Curry’s Kearney Commercial Center

by Suzanne Licata

The Kearney Chamber of Commerce scared up volunteers from its membership, community, board and staff as they prepped on Halloween and the next day moved into their new, nearly 1,800-square-foot space in Curry Real Estate Services’ Kearney Commercial Center, 190 W. 92 Hwy.

A force to be reckoned with, the Kearney Chamber is at the forefront of so much of the good happening in the business community. With this move, it brings a high-energy vibe not only to our Kearney Commercial Center but to everything around it. Curry, a long-time member, is delighted to add this exceptionally industrious tenant to our roster.

For the chamber, it is delighted to gain greater visibility for the organization in this new storefront location and offer members excellent accessibility to and throughout the space.

After taking possession of the space September 1, the chamber team directed the build out of the new office themselves with Stacie Bratcher, secretary and executive director, coordinating with our own Matt Pepper in the process. The chamber engaged many Kearney-based vendors to do their good work on the project which helped in getting everything done in time for the scheduled November 1 move in.

From its beginnings as a farming community, Kearney has evolved into a dynamic, growing center of opportunity attracting both families and businesses. In a recent 10-year period, Kearney was one of Missouri’s top three fastest growing communities.

The city of Kearney, Missouri, was incorporated in 1869. The Kearney Chamber of Commerce was established a little more than 100 years later, in 1976. It has two staff and is governed by a 12-member board of directors. It previously was located in the FMB Building, 455 Sam Barr in Kearney.
