Curry Real Estate Leader Elected NKC Schools Education Foundation Chair

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 17, 2018) — Ellen Todd, president, Curry Real Estate Services, was elected chair of the North Kansas City Schools Education Foundation. Her annual term begins in January and she will serve alongside 17 other Northland business and community leaders, as well as district teachers and staff members..

 “Like so many others in the community, Curry Real Estate Services has been a long-time supporter of the amazing good accomplished through generous donations administered and guided by the NKC Schools Education Foundation,” Todd said. “The Foundation’s desire is always to do more to support our schools and ensure that all students have every opportunity for success.”

The NKC Schools Education Foundation provides scholarships for students, grants for staff and funding for school-related programs that are not supported by tax dollars.

“Ellen is a well-respected business leader and generous supporter of many worthwhile causes and organizations, and she understands the critical role that education plays in the future of our community,” said Jan Lewis, Education Foundation director. “I look forward to working with her to grow the Foundation and increase its positive impact on our students, staff and schools.”

Established in 1996, the Foundation now has assets of more than $1.5 million and over the years has awarded 255 grants totaling $355,000 to enhance student learning and 577 scholarships worth $530,000 for high school graduates to continue their education and training.
