The company also has its own multi-million-dollar portfolio of commercial and multi-family properties located throughout the greater metropolitan area including Kansas City, Leavenworth, Merriam, Overland Park, Paola and Shawnee in Kansas; Blue Springs, Gladstone, Grandview, Independence, Kansas City, Kearney, Lee’s Summit, Liberty, Parkville, Pleasant Valley, Riverside and Smithville in Missouri.
A well-managed company, Curry has endured if not thrived through every economic cycle for nearly 100 years. 2024 marked our 100 years and while there are many measures of success, Curry values one above all others – relationships. All of that is deeply rooted in what is today a multi-generational, family-owned business.
That family started in 1924 With Charles F. Curry, who founded the real estate company and was later joined by his son, Charles E. Curry. In 1954, Raymond R. Brock, Jr., joined the company and, in 1980, led the acquisition of the company’s real estate assets. Those assets have been managed, nurtured and grown by the next generation led by Ellen Todd, Curry president and CEO. Todd joined the family business in 1980, taking on roles of increasing responsibility over the years and today oversees a team of long-time executives who live out the company’s people-first standard.
