Tenants Celebrate Their Five-Year Anniversary
For some, the number five symbolizes change, adventure and freedom representing the desire for new experiences and exploration. In 2020, a number of businesses brought their entrepreneurial adventure to Curry Real Estate Services as they became tenants in our properties throughout the area. We are celebrating their fifth anniversaries with them!
In that year, the not-for-profit M.A.R.C.H., joined our roster in one of our downtown Liberty properties, Empowered Counseling and Mariner Finance located at 2601 Kendallwood, Missouri Quality Care moved to 2700 NE Kendallwood Parkway and Summers Pharmacy opened at Kearney Crossroads.
Five years ago, Dawn Kuhlman took on the leadership of M.A.R.C.H. (Mediation Achieving Results for Children) when it had one computer desk and less than a $200,000 budget. Now the organization, which helps divorced and never married, separated parents resolve visitation, custody, child support and other disputes cooperatively and in the best interests of their children. “It’s everything I envisioned,” said Kuhlman, executive director. “We have a solid infrastructure and board and an amazing staff. We are even starting to receive national recognition with other states asking how we do what we do.”
Mariner Finance may be celebrating five years as a Curry tenant but it has been providing personal loans to customers for nearly 100 years! Offering secured and unsecured personal loans with a fixed monthly payment and interest rate, the company works to help customers manage expenses.
Jeannie Morrill owns the Summers Pharmacy in Kearney and has always been interested in medicine in general. She volunteered at an independent pharmacy when she was in Warrensburg and then was hired by owner Ryan Summers. “I fell in love with the profession and we’ve built trust with our communitye,” said Morrill. “It is so easy and convenient to do business here – we have a drive thru, plenty of parking, even a personal room for those who want privacy to discuss their prescriptions or vaccines. It’s been great.”
Missouri Quality Care Missouri Quality Care provides services to developmentally disabled individuals in variety of living environments with much of the care provided is 24/7, seven days a week. They located to Curry’s NE Kendallwood property in a growth mode and now serve clients in Cameron, Kansas City and throughout northwest Missouri.
“Therapy is for everyone,” says Lindsay Frazier, owner of Empowered Counseling. “She became a Curry tenant one year into her business and has expanded twice since, moving into a larger space in the building. “Curry let me keep my original suite number, which really helped,” she said. “It’s been a great relationship in a perfect location – accessible and well-lighted.” She said in her work they keep non-traditional hours, open well into the evening so a quiet, safe and secure location really matters. “I love helping people figure out the next steps to get them back on track,” she added. “I am blessed to get to do what I do for living.”
