2022 First Quarter Manager’s Meeting

It is a remarkable thing to see your colleagues in person after a two-year COVID delay. Even more so for those whose jobs keep them so busy it is rare as hens teeth to get away for a couple of hours of professional development. This extraordinary thing happened recently when Curry Real Estate Services’ property management team came together for a work session at the Raymond R. Brock Jr. Hall at Northland Neighborhoods, Inc. (NNI).

Windmill Square Keeps its Charms in Latest Renovation

Windmill Shopping Center, nearly 50,000 square feet, nearly 50 years old, is likely the most whimsical among the thriving office/retail centers in the metropolitan area. In 2021, Curry began Windmill’s exterior renovation, making repairs as needed and introducing lively, welcoming colors to the paint scheme. The work completed in December.

The Small Mall is Big in Happy Holiday Memories

Among the many happy memories of Christmases past is one so dear, so classic that it practically has its own alumni group (especially among Northlanders) – The Small Mall at the former Antioch Shopping Center. The iconic just-for-children teeny Christmas mall within the mall was the brainchild of the elves at Curry Real Estate Company who for more than 40 years built the Small Mall, furnished it, stocked the gifts on display and provided the “sales” staff who helped little children shop for and wrap presents priced $2 – $12 all on their own – no adults allowed!

20 People to know in Commercial Real Estate – Kansas City Business Journal

Our amazing leader “Ellen Todd” was listed as one of the top 20 people in Commercial Real Estate that you should get to know in the Kansas City, Business Journal.

Mama and Me

Nicole Fox launched her Mama and Me baby products retail concept in the middle of the pandemic. It is thriving.

“The whole thing started on maternity leave as I kind of woke up from the new mom fog, looked at my life and house and thought, what has happened?” Fox laughed. She started finding her way as a new mom, gaining community in new mom support groups but coming up empty on where she could go for children’s products beyond the big box stores.

House of Hope

Having distributed more than one million meals since March 2020, the Northland’s House of Hope has a compelling mission – to come alongside those in need to help move the hurting into health.

That mission drew nearly 40 members of the Curry team to volunteer this summer for one of the organization’s Hope Tote Builds to prep hundreds of bags of nutritious groceries to give away at its Family Friday – the monthly drive-through grocery distribution at 21 Design Drive of non-perishable items, bread and produce.
